Founder & Head Scriptologist.
Currently optioned on two feature film screenplays, one of which secured prestigious development funding from Creative Europe in summer 2018, Alkin moves seamlessly from writing and directing film to education in film.
He has been a lecturer in screenwriting, directing and related film disciplines for some 12 years, and was formerly the course-leader for the third year B.A (Hons) Film Production at Brighton Film School.
His last short film was a semi-finalist for the Grand Jury prize at the Sao Paolo Film Festival in Brazil, previous films have been selected for BAFTA nominating Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Cannes Short Film Corner and have secured distribution with Shorts International.
His work has been funded variously by Creative Europe, Creative England, the UK Film Council and Screen South.
Alkin founded Scriptology to bring much needed innovation and creativity to the way screenwriting is taught and to build an active community around screenwriting in Brighton.
He seeks to offer an unparalleled screenwriting education and a personal approach at a fraction of the price of a degree on his part-time evening courses.
